Community Giving That Makes a Difference

Your donations provide free necessities to families and individuals facing financial instability. We rely on the generosity of our community to keep inventory stocked.

Drop-Off Times

Mondays & Fridays, 9:00—11:30 AM*

*We regret that, due to staffing limitations, donations left outside these hours cannot be accepted and will be disposed of.

What We Look For:

  • Like-new or New Items: Clean, unstained, without rips or tears, in working order, in style and in season.
  • Properly Packaged: Place items in labeled boxes or clear bags that are not overly heavy to make sorting easier for our volunteers.

What We Accept

  • Furniture & Appliances: Kitchen tables & chairs, clean mattresses (twin, full, queen, king), bunk beds, sofas, end tables, lamps, small kitchen appliances. *

  • Clothing: In season men’s, women’s and children’s clothing; underwear and socks; shoes and boots; coats/jackets.
  • Bedding & Soft Goods: Towels, sheets, blankets, quilts and new pillows.
  • Housewares & Home Décor: Everyday dishes, pots/pans, utensils, food storage containers, window treatments and throw rugs.
  • Books & Toys: Children’s and adult books, DVDs, clean toys, complete puzzles and games.

In some cases, LCC is not able to use items that are donated.  When that happens, LCC often passes those items on to other nonprofits to either use for their own clients or sell to support their operations.  LCC also sells donated items from time to time to raise money to support its own operations.

Items We Cannot Accept

To ensure safety, quality and client dignity, Lake Country Caring does not accept certain items. Please review the categories below before donating.

  • Air conditioners
  • Living room chairs, over-stuffed chairs or single chairs
  • Computers, printers or computer furniture/accessories
  • Cribs with drop-sides or cribs that convert to youth beds
  • Grills, patio furniture, large outdoor play equipment or swimming pools
  • Headboards or footboards
  • Large armoires, hutches, entertainment centers, wicker furniture, magazine racks
  • Machines that run on gas, propane, etc.
  • Office desks, chairs, file cabinets
  • Pianos or organs
  • Refrigerators or built-in appliances
  • Sofa sleepers, adjustable beds or reclining sofas
  • Televisions or stereo systems
  • Business wear (suits, sport coats, blazers, dress pants/shirts)
  • Maternity clothing
  • Scrubs
  • Personalized, company-logo or event-specific items
  • Sports uniforms
  • Rummage sale leftovers
  • Table linens, bed skirts, pillow shams, duvet covers
  • Sheets, blankets, quilts or towels that are stained, torn or have holes
  • Encyclopedias, dictionaries, textbooks, cookbooks, magazines
  • Greeting cards
  • Car batteries, gas cans or paint
  • Light or plumbing fixtures
  • Crystal or cut-glass serving dishes, fine china or barware
  • Exercise machines or exercise bikes
  • Flower pots and gardening supplies
  • Large suitcases, hanging clothes carriers, laptop bags or fanny packs
  • Magazine racks
  • Phones of any kind
  • Pictures or artwork larger than 2’x2’, picture frames or albums (all sizes)
  • Pool tables and other game tables
  • Sewing machines that are not portable
  • VHS and cassette tapes or players
  • Wheelchairs, canes or other medical equipment
