Qualifications & Registration
For over thirty years Lake Country Caring Inc. (LCC) has offered a helping hand to those in need. Residents of Dodge, Jefferson, Washington and Waukesha counties whose household income is at or beneath 200% of the federal poverty level are eligible to register for services.
Registration Process: An interview for an LCC card takes approximately 5 minutes and no appointment is necessary. Interviews are conducted on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, preferably between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Registration requirements are:
- Photo ID: driver’s license, passport, or other government issued identification
- Proof of Address: rental agreement, utilities bill or other form of business mail (but not personal mail)
- Proof of Need: tax returns, documented participation in FoodShare, Medicaid, Badgercare, WisconsinWorks, public housing assistance, school lunch or similar governmental program, qualification for services at another 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves low income households. Proof of need may also be established by providing INS paperwork or documented disaster, such as a fire, flood or robbery (valid for initial registration only)
- All information received is kept strictly confidential.
- On most client days, a Spanish translator is available.
Community Resources
Clients are welcome to visit our Community Resources wall that is full of brochures from other social service organizations that provide assistance with electric, heat, rent, free meals, food pantries, healthcare, shelter, etc., to those in need.
